Before It Was Written, IT WAS Written...

Take "Noah and the Flood"... The story of Noah's ark and the flood is found in Genesis 6:1-11:32.

  • During the Flood, every living creature on earth perished, including mankind. Noah, his wife, his three sons and their wives, and the animals they had gathered into the ark represented the new life that would repopulate the earth.

"Finally, on September 6, 1620 the Mayflower departed from Plymouth, England, and headed for America. By the time the Pilgrims had left England, they had already been living on board the ships for nearly a month and a half. The voyage itself across the Atlantic Ocean took 66 days, from their departure on September 6, until Cape Cod was sighted on 9 November 1620. The first half of the voyage went fairly smoothly, the only major problem was sea-sickness. But by October, they began encountering a number of Atlantic storms that made the voyage treacherous." "As the Mayflower approached land, the crew spotted Cape Cod just as the sun rose on November 9. The Pilgrims decided to head south, to the mouth of the Hudson River in New York, where they intended to make their plantation. However, as the Mayflower headed south, it encountered some very rough seas, and nearly shipwrecked. The Pilgrims then decided, rather than risk another attempt to go south, they would just stay and explore Cape Cod. They turned back north, rounded the tip, and anchored in what is now Provincetown Harbor. The Pilgrims would spend the next month and a half exploring Cape Cod, trying to decide where they would build their plantation. On December 25, 1620, they had finally decided upon Plymouth, and began construction of their first buildings." http://mayflowerhistory.com/voyage

Both stories leave us with a pondering reflection...one in connection with a passage over 5,000BC years ago and one nearly 400 years ago - BOTH TRUE and are one of God's promise to continue life on earth - THIS WORLD AS WE KNOW IT. http://abcnews.go.com/Technology/evidence-suggests-biblical-great-flood-noahs-time-happened/story?id=17884533 http://mayflowerhistory.com/end-of-the-mayflower As was told in THE STORY..."The earth recovered from this great flood. Animal and plant life flourished, Noah's family repopulated the earth. The cycle of life continued, the people remembered God. Ancient businesses grew, homesteads and farms developed, and trade routes brought wealth and opportunity for travel. It was time for God's next move, time to build a nation in a land that would become the cultural and ethnic home to ALL." http://www.thestory.com/ This Thanksgiving be thankful for HIS-STORY, and be mindful that ALL WAS WRITTEN WITH PROMISE and PURPOSE~
